Who We Are

This website is run by Myst Studios Limited (“Myst Studios”, “we”, “us”), a digital marketing agency based in New Zealand. We follow the Privacy Act 2020 and its Information Privacy Principles.

What We Collect

We only collect what we need to reply to you and to do our work.

When you send an enquiry: your name, email address, phone number, business name, your role, your town or city, the services you’re interested in, your message and, if you give it, your website. The website quote form also asks about the site you need (such as the type of website, pages, features, hosting and timing). We also note which page the enquiry was sent from and, if you arrived from another website, which one.
When you contact us directly: whatever you include in an email, call, message or meeting.
When you become a client: the details we need to deliver and bill the work, such as contact and billing details, account access you give us, and the photos, videos and other material we create or receive for your business.
When you browse the site: with your permission, information about how the site is used (see Cookies and Analytics below).

You don’t have to give us any information, but without your contact details we can’t reply to an enquiry.

How We Use It

To reply to your enquiry and book a discovery call.
To prepare proposals and agreements, and deliver the services you sign up for.
To send invoices and keep business and tax records.
To improve our website and marketing, if you’ve allowed analytics or marketing cookies.
To meet our legal obligations.

We don’t sell your information. We don’t add you to a mailing list unless you ask us to, and every marketing email we send has an unsubscribe link, as the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007 requires.

We use trusted service providers to run the business. They only use your information to provide their service to us:

Zapier: passes enquiries from the website form to our records and email.
Google Workspace: our email and the spreadsheet where we track enquiries.
Hostinger: hosts this website.
Xero: invoicing and accounts, for clients.
Google and Meta: analytics and advertising tools, only if you allow them through the cookie settings.

Some of these providers store information outside New Zealand, including in the United States. We use providers that protect personal information to a standard comparable to the Privacy Act.

We may also share information if the law requires it, or with your agreement.

Cookies and Analytics

When you first visit, we ask which cookies you’re happy with:

Necessary: keep the site working, such as remembering your cookie choice. Always on.
Analytics: help us see which pages are useful, for example through Google Analytics. Off until you allow them.
Marketing: let us measure our ads and show you relevant ones on other sites, for example through the Meta Pixel. Off until you allow them.

You can change your choice at any time with Cookie Settings in the footer of every page.

How We Keep It Safe

We keep your information in secure, password-protected systems, and only the people who need it can see it. We keep it for as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires (for example, financial records are kept for seven years), and then delete it.

Your Rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it’s wrong. Email info@myststudios.nz and we’ll respond within 20 working days.

If you’re not happy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
